How to use
- Choose how many adjectives to put before the noun, from 1 to 5, and how many names you want.
- Pick a format: plain words, kebab-case, snake_case, camelCase or PascalCase.
- Press Generate until you like one, then copy the list. Type a seed to get the same names again later.
Examples
seed “multikit”, 3 adjectives, kebab-case, first name
→ groovy-sturdy-emerald-ghostThe same seed with the same settings always gives the same list.
seed “multikit”, 2 adjectives, words, first name
→ groovy sturdy flute
seed “multikit”, 4 adjectives, camelCase, first name
→ groovySturdyEmeraldSnappyFrog
How it works
Each name is built from words picked at random from two lists of plain, everyday English words, adjectives and nouns, which exclude offensive terms. Adjectives are chosen without repeats, and the noun comes last. For the code formats the words are joined with a hyphen or underscore, or run together with capital letters.
Random numbers come from a small seeded generator. A typed seed is turned into a number with the FNV-1a hash, so any text works as a seed. With no seed, a random one is used each time.
The tool is tested for repeatable output, distinct adjectives, the limits of 1 to 5 adjectives and 1 to 50 names, and the exact format of every style.

Frequently asked questions
- What can I use the names for?
- Project, repository and branch names, test servers and containers, usernames and game characters, or a prompt for writing and drawing. Docker names containers in a similar way, with an adjective and a surname.
- Will two people get the same name?
- It is possible but unlikely. With about 100 adjectives and 130 nouns, a name with three adjectives has more than 100 million combinations, and an adjective is never repeated within one name.
- What does the seed do?
- It makes the result repeatable. The same seed, settings and version of the word lists give the same names, so a team can regenerate a list from a shared seed. Leave it empty for a different list each time.
- Are the names checked for existing trademarks or domains?
- No. A random name may match a company, product or domain. Check availability yourself before you use one for something public.
- Are my settings sent anywhere?
- No. The names are made in your browser.
